Have T-Mobile? Want all that Band 12 coverage you’ve been missing? Well, you’re in luck… but you have to act fast.
Best Buy has the LG Leon available for $69 today, sans contract. Yes, we know, T-Mobile doesn’t have contracts anymore, but it’s worth mentioning.
The Leon is a Snapdragon 410 standard smartphone, in an LG G3-based chassis. With a 4.5-inch screen, $69 is a pretty good deal alone.
But the thing that really makes this phone stand out, is that it’s the cheapest phone today that supports LTE Band 12 – which T-Mobile is now starting to use heavily in areas that have been deemed to have poor coverage by T-Mobile. Band 12 is particularly being deployed in rural markets.
Many people think they have a phone with LTE Band 12, but don’t actually. The only Nexus device that has it, is the ultra-expensive Nexus 6 & 9. Also phones like the Moto E only utilize Band 12 in ultra-expensive versions. For example, the Verizon (SIM unlocked) Moto E that we’ve been telling you about, lacks Band 12. But, the international (XT1527) version does have it.
Amazon’s lowest price for this phone is hovering around $99, with their shipped-by-Amazon price at $129, almost double the cost of this deal. Act fast, Best Buy is likely to send the price back up at midnight eastern-time.
